Summary
We are seeking a professional to lead the establishment of a new startup dedicated to innovative seasoning products. This role demands expertise across the entire spices and herbs production process—from sourcing raw materials to delivering exceptional quality finished goods for both domestic and export markets. You will be working alongside with others for the role.
Responsibilities
Market Research & Industry Analysis
- Perform in-depth research to assess current trends, consumer preferences, competitive landscape, and pricing within the spices and herbs seasoning sector.
- Analyze the potential growth and market share for different seasoning products, with a focus (example: chili, turmeric, cinnamon, masala, and other type of seasoning powders).
- Identify customer needs and preferences, particularly in target markets, to inform product development.
Feasibility Study & Business Model
- Conduct a full feasibility study to assess the viability, risks, and potential return on investment.
- Detail financial projections, cost analyses, and risk assessments.
- Present recommendations and strategic insights to guide the business model.
Business Model Development
- Develop a business model that covers sourcing, production, distribution, and marketing of seasoning products.
- Define strategic plans for domestic and international distribution.
- Include operational, logistical, and financial components to ensure smooth execution and profitability.
Product Development
- Create quality products that align with market needs.
- Ensure sourcing of the quality raw materials and oversee quality control measures.
- Implement sustainable practices in sourcing and packaging that align with market trends.
Marketing Strategy Development
- Create marketing strategies to position products competitively and build brand recognition in domestic and export markets.
- Identify and engage key distribution channels and partners.
Business Development
- Identify and establish strategic partnerships with suppliers, distributors, and retailers.
- Develop an export strategy to access international markets, including compliance with relevant regulations.
Full Business Management
- Ensure all operational functions align to build the business from scratch, including hiring, training, procurement, and day-to-day management.
- Work hands-on to establish best practices and build systems that facilitate smooth operations.
Requirement
- At least 10 years of experience or more in the relevant spices and herbs industry.
- Proven experience in carrying out extensive market research that reflect the real on ground information within the spices and herbs industry.
- Ability to compile and interpret market data and market information to influence business decisions.
- Prefer with a strong financial insight with proven expertise in budgeting, costing, and financial forecasting.
- Knowledge of supply chain logistics and export processes for domestic and international markets.
- Hands-on experience in product development and innovation within the spices and herbs industry.
- Strong understanding of raw material sourcing, product formulation, and quality assurance processes.
- Proven track record in delivering successful, market-ready products in the relevant sector.
- Expertise in creating and executing marketing strategies for seasoning or related food products.
- Prefer with familiarity of global spice markets, trade regulations, and market entry strategies.
- Extensive network and connections within the spices and herbs seasoning industry.
- Proven success in securing and managing partnerships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, distributors, and export partners.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a high tolerance for challenges with an open mind while being a team player.
